As Director, I lead the university's national and international academic, research and creation partnerships and cooperation strategy. The strategy is defined in the Institutional Development Plan 2020-2025. This includes the strategy and participation in higher education networks (La Triada, APRU, HUC, ASCUN, CCYK, OSUN, CINDA among others); strategic alliances (University of Giessen, University of West Indies and Florida International University), physical and virtual academic mobility of students, staff and professors, the development of an internationalization strategy for the coordination of doctoral programs, and the directions of two internationalization centers at home: the Japan Center and the Confucius Institute.

The Japan Center was founded to commemorate the 110 years of diplomatic friendship between Japan and Colombia and the 70th anniversary of the Universidad de los Andes. The main objective has been to communicate the cultural richness of the Asian country in Colombia, promote bilateral cultural and academic exchange between both nations and encourage cooperation between Japanese and Colombian companies and institutions across all societal sectors. My role is to position the Center as a prominent and vital place for the meeting of relations between Japan and Colombia and for disseminating information about Japan. The Center also hopes to have an impact in the Asia-Pacific region. From the Center Committee, we lead continuing education courses, cultural activities, relationships with Japanese companies, the Embassy of Japan in Colombia, and related foundations.

The Uniandes Confucius Institute was founded in November 2007 as the first Confucius Institute in South America, with the mission of providing the university community and the general public with knowledge of the Chinese language, culture, history, and art, as well as the economy, business, and other relevant topics. The Uniandes Confucius Institute is associated with the Nankai University of China and CIEF - Chinese International Education Foundation. My role is to lead the team offering six levels of Chinese language, academic and cultural activities, cooperation with companies such as members of the Colombo China chamber in Colombia, and the relationship with Universities in China.

I led the co-design of two epidemiology graduate programs in blended learning methodology, combining face-to-face with online learning experiences. Planning and implementing more than ten courses with the advice of Conecta-TE from Uniandes, a team of educators, engineers, and health professionals, was a transformative experience and has inspired me to continue looking for innovative teaching strategies with my students inside and outside the classroom.
